My first experience as a teacher was in 2002, assisting Prof. Marco Bonetto in his class of Car Design at SPD. My first “solo” was in 2004 teaching Alias, after that I have been able to teach many subjects. Teaching is one of the most rewarding activities, seeing your students growing and becoming great academics, or working for multinational companies or succeeding in creating their own companies!

Subjects currently teaching

Depending if Fall or Spring I normally teach:

DEPD 1110 Visualisation for product design (sketching focusing on its relation to the design process, particularly on conceptualisation and exploration).

DEPD 1140 Model Making (basic techniques to produce 3D physical objects with paper, cardboard, taskboard, MDF, wood, laminated plastic, resin casting and/or fibreglass… so we also do molds).

DEPD 4710 & 4810 Design Studio 6 & 7 (our 4th year students’ thesis project, first term focuses on research, more research and lots of more research to end up in December with a concept proposal, the following term is all about testing and defining the final project, as well as getting ready for the final presentation).

DEPD 2310 & 2410 Design Studio 2 & 3 (first term we link the course to an industry project, second term focuses on Systems Thinking).

DEPD 2420 Production Technologies (the students start disassembling an old home appliance. They analyse materials used, the assembly sequence and manufacturing processes; later they redesign it based in a market study and proposing other manufacturing processes and/or materials).
